The Municipality of Samsø

Samsø and the surrounding sea invites to a wonderful blend of relaxation in calm surroundings as well as more active experiences. The beaches vary from child-friendly beaches with low water to more stony stretches and excellent fishing possibilities.

The water is crystal-clear, and thanks to the 120 kilometre long stretch of coast, the beaches are never crowded. Samsø covers an area of 114 square kilometres and offers scenery of indescribable beauty and variety, inviting many experiences and activities.

The Municipality og Samsø is also home to the Energy Academy, located close to the picturesque harbour village and tourist magnet Ballen. Samsø has amassed a great deal of concrete experiences with the implementation of a broad variety of local renewable energy project, from wind turbines to CO2 neutral district heating plants, rapeseed oil tractors and solar energy panels.
